Pinterest Contest and Book Giveaway

Dwarf irises ready for packaging at Rainbow Iris Farm

Dwarf irises ready for packaging at Rainbow Iris Farm

It’s no secret that I love Pinterest, addicted as I am to scavenging the web for the latest plants, funky vignettes, and coolest new ideas for my garden and home.  So what better way to celebrate bearded iris planting season than with a contest and giveaway for iris rhizomes and a signed copy of my book A Guide to Bearded Irises?

What exactly is a Pinterest contest?  Well, if you have Pinterest and have an interest in irises, you’re all set.  Basically, we’re challenging you to scavenge this site for at least 10 of your favorite bearded irises.  You can add more from other sites, but for the purposes of this contest, you need at least 10 to be entered for the giveway–a signed copy of my book and a Kelly’s Top Picks collection from Rainbow Iris Farm, a sampler of 6 of my favorite bearded irises ($69.95 retail value!)

Here’s how to get involved!

  • Make sure to follow both Kelly Norris and Timber Press on Pinterest.
  • Create a new board on Pinterest and title it “I Love Bearded Irises!”
  • Pin at least 10 of your favorite irises from the site (the one you’re currently browsing!)
  • Once your board is complete, post a link to it here in the comments section of the announcement post.  Please sign your post with your email so that we can get in touch with you if you win.  We will not sell or inappropriately distribute your email address in any way.

Pin away iris lovers!  The deadline for entering your board is August 29, and we’ll pick the winner at random from the comments posted here using the plugin “And the Winner Is.”  Due to postal restrictions on plants across international borders, we’re unable to accept entries from outside the United States.

The recent street construction on both streets on our corner with heavy machinery parked on my tulip flower bed, gives me the perfect excuse to “start-over” with Irises…..as if I need an excuse.

I know I’m not entitled to compete since I live in Sweden, but I still love irises and would love to have a copy of your book.

    God’s Rainbow of Color….the Iris!

I learned to love Iris from my Dear Mama and now when I go to my iris garden…I whisper “Mama can you see them?

“Yes Pat I see them” she silently whispers back to me I have a Heavenly view and they are beautiful…I’m proud of you and your Iris Garden…….I can see Mama smiling.

Dad was always searching for the next special bearded iris for his gardens. When mom sold the house last summer I divided the remaining Iris for my sisters and I, but they didn’t transfer well. Would love to create a tribute garden to dad of my own special iris!
